No, betta fish do not eat peace lily roots. Betta fish are carnivores that eat insects and larvae, not plants. Their mouths are too small and their digestive systems do not process fibrous plant material. The real risk comes from the plant decaying in the water. Why Betta Fish Ignore Peace Lily Roots Betta fish … Read more
A betta fish cannot survive indefinitely in cloudy water, the cloudiness itself isn’t a direct killer, but what causes it often is. In most cases, a betta will show signs of distress within 24, 48 hours and can die within 3, 7 days if the underlying issue isn’t corrected. The exact timeline depends on whether … Read more
Yes, betta fish do eat other fish under the right conditions. While they are not constant predators, they are territorial and will attack fish small enough to fit in their mouths. Bettas rarely eat Peace Lily leaves, but they do nibble the roots. While the plant contains calcium oxalate crystals, mildly toxic to fish, the real danger is usually physical: root rot fouling the water or the fish getting trapped. With proper preparation, you can keep them together, but it requires careful management to keep your … Read more

No, betta fish should never eat rice. Rice offers no nutritional value for bettas and can cause fatal bloating, intestinal blockages, or constipation because their digestive systems cannot process raw grains or starches. Even a single cooked grain expands in water, potentially lodging in the throat or gut. Stick to species‑appropriate foods, high‑protein pellets, frozen … Read more

Their tiny mouths can only eat microscopic foods at first, so you must start with live foods like infusoria and gradually introduce larger options like baby brine shrimp and microworms as they develop. The key is matching food size to the … Read more
